马小六告诉红星新闻记者，几经辗转，大家合力寻找到了石秀培的孙女许国莲，也就是西亚克斯同父异母姐姐的孩子。目前许国莲生活在香港，今年79岁，她向马小六讲述了关于她的母亲，西亚克斯同父异母的姐姐石群叶的故事。

1920年，父亲石秀培出洋谋生时，石群叶刚刚在广州出生。在石群叶的人生里，从未拥有过完整的父爱和家庭，母亲靠着石秀培不定时寄回家的钱，抚养着石群叶。1938年的一天，母亲早上出门，准备去香港领取父亲从古巴寄来的汇款，让石群叶等自己回家吃晚餐。

那一天，日军轰炸广州，广州沦陷，尚未成年的石群叶迟迟等不到母亲的归来，在街坊邻居们的劝说下，石群叶随着人群逃离广州，辗转抵达了四会，从此以后，再也没有见过母亲。后来，她在四会结婚生子，落地生根，但她从未放弃过寻找自己的母亲和父亲。

许国莲说，石群叶曾在后来的几十年中，数次返回广东，寻找母亲，但过去住过的老宅早已被炸毁，母亲音讯全无。“母亲曾多次问我，你的外婆还会不会回来找我？”许国莲说。
