I went to the supermarket at noon to buy a bunch of snacks, and when I checked out, I saw a candy priced at 1.5 yuan, so I picked it up. After going out, I thought to myself that something was not right. As I walked, I looked at the receipt and found that the price of the candy was 15 yuan. I tried to recall the scene at checkout, suspecting that I had misread the label. After thinking about it, I decided to forget it, and there were other things I had to do. After work at night and passing by the supermarket, the more I think about it, the more uncomfortable I feel. How can I consider a 1.5 yuan candy as 15 yuan? It was originally something I picked up by hand, and if it were 15, I wouldn't even consider it. After hesitating for a while, I decided to go in and confirm. As soon as I entered the door, I glanced at the label and it was indeed 1.5 yuan. However, there were too many people waiting to pay the bill, so I went in and went around to buy some things. When the store was empty, I walked over with the items I had just selected, smiled, and told the checkout girl that I had miscalculated a candy while shopping at noon. I also showed her the candy and receipt. Upon hearing this, she glanced at me and said expressionlessly, "You read it wrong." "How could that be?" I pointed to the place where I took the candy at noon. She slammed the candy I bought at noon onto the table and took a 1.5 yuan candy. "Look, is this a type of candy?" I carefully identified it and realized that although the packaging was very similar, it was indeed not the same. However, I clearly picked it up at this location at noon. Faced with her questioning and two different types of candies, I felt a little guilty: "I picked them up here at noon, and if they were different, you might have labeled them wrong." "It's impossible." At this moment, a customer was queuing up behind me to pay the bill, and the staff's demeanor and my guilt made me feel like I was just looking for trouble. "Is it worth it for this little money?" The customer behind us couldn't help but complain as they saw us arguing. "Is this a matter of a few dollars? It's because they marked the wrong price, why don't they admit it?" I heard my voice tremble slightly, and in the eyes of the salesperson and customers, I felt more guilty. The salesperson pushed the item I just selected aside and said, "Do you want it or not? Don't leave quickly." "Yes, it's really delaying the business," the customer behind me agreed. In a fit of anger, I shook my hand and walked out of the supermarket, only to hear the two of them talking about me, a crazy person who causes trouble for just a few yuan. This matter has left me unable to forgive myself for a long time. Until many years later, the same scene appeared in front of me, and I was the person queuing up to pay the bill. The little girl in front of her cried and told the clerk that she had not secretly stuffed anything that had not been scanned into the scanned goods. The shop assistant took out the phone and was about to call the police. The little girl felt guilty and didn't know if she accidentally bumped into it. The people behind her have been urging her to hurry up, they are all in a hurry. The little girl reluctantly paid and was ready to leave. I grabbed her and said, "Whoever is in a hurry will pay first. After we finish paying, let's check the surveillance footage together and see how the items that were not scanned are actually put into the bag." "Is this necessary?" The shop assistant said impatiently. "It's necessary to call the police, why isn't it necessary to look at the surveillance footage? It's not that anyone who speaks loudly makes sense, even if she accidentally falls into it, it can be considered slandering someone else for stealing." I once suffered a loss due to my thin skin, which made me resentful for so long. I don't want the little girl to be like me. The people who were in a hurry to leave quickly settled their accounts and stayed away from the dispute. A few people who enjoyed watching the excitement settled their accounts and stayed behind, which can be considered as a witness. The surveillance footage shows that two bags were glued together by the salesperson while scanning the code, and the little girl didn't see them and just put them inside. The truth came to light, and the salesperson tried to shift the blame onto the little girl. Before I could speak, a few witnesses had already made it difficult for her to argue anymore. The little girl shed tears while thanking. I seem to have seen my former self, but I have no chance to prove that my former self was misunderstood.
