今年高考期间，一段7年前总台《面对面》栏目对高考考生庞众望的采访视频被媒体重新发掘，引发热议。片中，庞众望面对困境和挫折依然阳光向上的态度收获不少网友的点赞。

　　2017年高考，庞众望考出了理科684分的成绩，并获得清华大学“自强计划”最高60分的降分录取资格。之所以获得清华大学“自强计划”录取资格，是由于他特殊的家庭环境，父亲是一位精神分裂症患者，母亲下肢残疾，行动不便。面对家庭的重担，庞众望一边勤于学业，一边照料家庭。

　　7年过去，如今的庞众望怎么样了？《面对面》记者再次采访庞众望。

　　他曾担心“有负众望”

　　进入大学后逐渐找到方向

　　人生的前18年里，庞众望曾因先天性心脏病命悬一线，曾为母亲住院挨家挨户借钱，也曾为还债捡废品赚钱，但他一直以积极乐观的心态拥抱生活，并一直抱有“知识改变命运”的愿望。

　　7年前，带着家人的期许和社会的关注，庞众望走进清华大学，就读精密仪器系，开启了人生新的阶段。刚进入大学时，他很在意别人的目光，“不是说在意别人看不起我，而是在意别人看到我的经历后，觉得我需要比他们成长得更快、更优秀。我害怕会有负众望。”

　　这种无形的重担一度困扰着庞众望，但清华的同学和老师治愈了他的恐惧。庞众望的一位本科室友从未主动提及他的过去，直到大三，庞众望才知道对方早已知晓他的成长经历。

　　庞众望的很多老师也会找他做心理上的谈话，“比如史宗恺老师说，在清华最重要的任务就是发现自己，发展自己。”这让庞众望更多地着眼于自己真正喜欢、真正擅长、真正希望成长的样子。

　　入校后一年半的时间里，庞众望不断尝试新的领域。他曾担任班级团支书、生活委员、宣传委员，心理的落差也在一次次尝试中化解。很多爱心人士曾表示要资助庞众望，但都被他婉言谢绝。在学校全面的补助措施下，他的学习和生活并无后顾之忧。

　　“妈妈每天都在笑

　　我为什么要去难受？”

　　在庞众望入读清华大学的这些年，母亲庞志芹对他的影响一如既往。“从小我妈妈就把我教育得挺乐观的，她常说人要往前看，我妈妈每天都在笑，我为什么要去难受？”庞众望回忆。

　　庞众望的母亲庞志芹一出生便与病痛相伴，先天性脊柱裂导致她下肢发育不全，双腿被截肢，父母出于安全考虑没让她上学。生下孩子后，不识字的庞志芹给他起名：庞众望。

　　“这孩子是我最大的希望，我自己一辈子没读过书，可羡慕读书的了，就想让他能读，尽量读好书。”庞志芹说。

　　因为行动不便，又不愿意麻烦别人，庞志芹从来没有到清华大学看过庞众望。遗憾的是，2020年，庞志芹因病住院，在家人的陪伴下，她走完了自己48年的人生。

　　庞众望：以前我并不能感同身受地理解我妈妈到底在经受怎样的病痛折磨，因为她一直不告诉我，也不让我去看她身上有疾病的地方。直到她躺在病床上，我第一次看到了那些深可见骨的伤口，特别心疼。

　　庞志芹曾说，希望庞众望“走好自己的路，搞好自己的学习，将来能给国家做贡献，帮助更多的人”。她住院期间，庞众望正在面试直接攻读博士学位的资格。临终前，庞志芹听到了儿子面试通过的好消息。

　　母亲过世后，庞众望多次梦见小时候推着母亲去赶集的画面。他说自己很少在母亲面前流露语言上的情感，更愿意用行动来表达。“我觉得她给我起了这样的名字，我能够做的就是在未来不辜负她给我起的名字。”

　　“值得我骄傲的东西

　　2021年，庞众望本科毕业后，继续留在清华大学精密仪器系攻读博士学位。他多次获得清华大学奖学金，还被评选为2022年度“中国大学生自强之星”。

　　回忆起一次灵感迸发的经历时，庞众望说，“那时我读博一，一个晚上正在洗澡，热水浇到头上的一瞬间，突然就想明白了一个问题。”当晚，庞众望和师兄讨论到深夜，这次偶然的推导演算让庞众望构建出了一套全新的实验思路和处理流程，也让他取得了自己科研生涯的第一项发明专利和学术论文。

　　博士研究生期间，庞众望除了发表SCI（科学引文索引）论文，还获得了国家发明专利三项。他从事的光网络信息感知相关研究，面向的是国家重大科技需求。

　　庞众望希望，能发掘光纤通信网络更多的可能性，“比如说在雨季经常可以看到一些路基坍塌的新闻，我们就想有没有可能通过一个通信光缆，提前监测这样的信息。”

　　除了科研，庞众望也会参加不同类型的社会实践活动。他加入了春蕾支教计划，曾赴山东枣庄山区参加支教活动。在那里，他担任一年级的班主任，为孩子们传授知识，也和他们分享自己的故事。

　　按照计划，庞众望将于两年后博士研究生毕业。

　　庞众望说，回顾自己的人生经历，目前让他骄傲的一个是高考，一个是科研。“在更长远的未来里，能让我骄傲的不会只是这两件事情，可能是我的事业，值得我骄傲的东西还在未来等着我。”

In the first 18 years of his life, Pang Zhongwang was on the brink of death due to congenital heart disease. He went door-to-door to borrow money for his mother's hospitalization, and also picked up scrap to make money for debt repayment. However, he has always embraced life with a positive and optimistic attitude, and has always held the desire to change his destiny with knowledge.

Seven years ago, with the expectations of his family and the attention of society, Pang Zhongwang entered Tsinghua University and studied in the department of Precision Instruments, ushering in a new stage in his life. When he first entered college, he was very concerned about the gaze of others. "It's not that he cares about others looking down on me, but about others seeing my experiences and thinking that I need to grow faster and better than them. I'm afraid I might fall short of expectations," he said

This intangible burden once troubled Pang Zhongwang, but his classmates and teachers at Tsinghua University cured his fear. One of Pang Zhongwang's undergraduate roommates never actively mentioned his past until his third year, when Pang Zhongwang realized that the other party had already known about his growth experience.

Many of Pang Zhongwang's teachers also have psychological conversations with him. "For example, professor Shi Zongkai said that the most important task at Tsinghua is to discover and develop oneself." This allows Pang Zhongwang to focus more on the person he truly likes, excels at, and hopes to grow.

For a year and a half after entering school, Pang Zhongwang constantly tried new fields. He has served as the class leader, life committee member, and publicity committee member, and the psychological gap has been resolved through repeated attempts. Many kind-hearted individuals have expressed their willingness to support Pang Zhongwang, but he politely declined. Under the comprehensive subsidy measures of the school, his learning and life have no worries.

During the years when Pang Zhongwang attended Tsinghua University, his mother Pang Zhiqin's influence on him remained unchanged. "Since I was young, my mother has educated me to be quite optimistic. She often said that people should look forward. My mother smiles every day, why should I feel uncomfortable?" Pang Zhongwang recalled.

Pang Zhongwang's mother, Pang Zhiqin, was born with illness and pain. Congenital spina bifida caused her to have underdeveloped lower limbs, and both legs were amputated. Her parents did not allow her to go to school for safety reasons. After giving birth to the child, the illiterate Pang Zhiqin named him Pang Zhongwang.

"This child is my greatest hope. I have never read a book in my life, but I envy those who read. I want him to read and try to read good books," said Pang Zhiqin.

Due to limited mobility and unwillingness to trouble others, Pang Zhiqin has never visited Pang Zhongwang at Tsinghua University. Unfortunately, in 2020, Pang Zhiqin was hospitalized due to illness. With the company of her family, she completed her 48 year life.

Pang Zhongwang: Before, I couldn't empathize with what kind of illness my mother was suffering from because she never told me or let me go see where she was sick. Until she lay on the hospital bed, I saw those deep visible bone wounds for the first time and felt particularly heartbroken.

Pang Zhiqin once said that he hoped Pang Zhongwang could "follow his own path, do a good job in his studies, and contribute to the country and help more people in the future.". During her hospitalization, Pang Zhongwang was interviewing for the qualification to pursue a doctoral degree directly. Before her death, Pang Zhiqin heard the good news that her son had passed the interview.

After his mother passed away, Pang Zhongwang dreamed many times of pushing his mother to the market when he was a child. He said he rarely expresses his emotions in language in front of his mother and is more willing to express himself through actions. "I think she gave me such a name, and all I can do is not to disappoint the name she gave me in the future."

In 2021, after graduating from undergraduate studies, Pang Zhongwang continued to pursue a doctoral degree in the Department of Precision Instruments at Tsinghua University. He has received multiple scholarships from Tsinghua University and was also selected as the "Star of Self Strengthening Chinese College Students" for 2022.

When recalling an inspirational experience, Pang Zhongwang said, "At that time, I was in my first year of doctoral studies. One night, while taking a shower and pouring hot water on my head, I suddenly understood a question." That night, Pang Zhongwang and his senior brother discussed until late at night. This accidental deduction and calculation allowed Pang Zhongwang to construct a new set of experimental ideas and processing procedures, and also enabled him to obtain his first invention patent and academic paper in his scientific research career.

During his doctoral studies, Pang Zhongwang not only published SCI (Scientific Citation Index) papers, but also obtained three national invention patents. His research on optical network information perception is aimed at major national technological needs.

Pang Zhongwang hopes to explore more possibilities for fiber optic communication networks, "For example, during the rainy season, we often see news of roadbed collapses. We wonder if it is possible to monitor such information in advance through a communication fiber optic cable."

In addition to scientific research, Pang Zhongwang also participates in various types of social practice activities. He joined the Spring Bud Teaching Program and participated in teaching activities in the Zaozhuang Mountain area of Shandong. There, he served as the first grade homeroom teacher, imparting knowledge to the children and sharing his own stories with them.

According to the plan, Pang Zhongwang will graduate as a doctoral student in two years.

Pang Zhongwang said that looking back on his life experiences, he is currently proud of the college entrance examination and scientific research. "In the longer-term future, these two things will not be the only things that make me proud. It may be my career, and what I am proud of is still waiting for me in the future."
