1988年，钱钟书收看了央视版《西游记》，当播到车迟国斗法那集，他发现其中存在一个常识性错误，于是赶忙提笔，给央视写了一封亲笔信。

这天，演到车迟国斗法，他一眼就瞧出了不对劲：当赵丽蓉老师扮演的王后，往柜子里放了一套华丽璀璨的衣服，也就是“山河社稷袄”和“乾坤地理裙”。

孙悟空调皮施了法，柜子里的物件俨然变成了一口破钟。

原著是这么写的：破烂流丢一口钟。剧里的台词也是这一句。

而电视剧的道具，正是一口钟，而且显示其破烂，道具组还刻意在上面搞了几个窟窿。

普通观众可能没看明白，但钱钟书知道这是个很大的常识性错误。

1979年出版的《辞海》，早已经为“一口钟”注解：一口钟，指一种无袖不开衩的长外衣。以形如钟覆，故名。又叫斗蓬、莲蓬衣、一裹圆。

华丽的衣服变成破烂的衣服，这逻辑才是顺的。变成一口破钟，反而是莫名其妙。

这显然是制作电视剧的人，疏于学问，望文生义了。

这事要是其他人，可能就一笑了之，但钱钟书治学严谨，他觉得，这样一部全国人民都在看的电视剧，如果不管不顾这个错误，对后世传播的文化理解，不利。

On that day, when it came to Che Chi Guo Dou Fa, he immediately noticed something was wrong: when Zhao Lirong played the queen, she put a set of gorgeous and dazzling clothes into the cabinet, which were the "Mountain and River Country Coat" and the "Qiankun Geography Skirt".

Sun Wukong mischievously cast a spell, and the objects in the cabinet turned into a broken bell.

The original work is written as follows: a dilapidated clock. The line in the drama is also this one.

And the props in the TV series are just a clock, and it shows that it is broken, and the prop team deliberately made a few holes on it.

Ordinary viewers may not understand, but Qian Zhongshu knows this is a big common sense mistake.

The "Cihai" published in 1979 has long been annotated as "Yikou Zhong": "Yikou Zhong" refers to a long coat without sleeves or slits. It is named after its shape resembling a bell. Also known as Doupeng, Lianpeng Yi, or Yibaoyuan.

The logic is that gorgeous clothes turn into tattered clothes. Becoming a broken bell is actually inexplicable.

This is obviously a person who produces TV dramas, neglecting knowledge and understanding the meaning of the text.

If it were someone else, this matter might have been laughed at, but Qian Zhongshu is rigorous in his academic pursuits. He believes that a TV drama that people across the country are watching, if this mistake is ignored, will be detrimental to the cultural understanding of future generations.

After receiving the letter, CCTV also attached great importance and immediately called for director Yang Jie, hoping to solve the problem as soon as possible. With the strong dissemination power of mass media, the accuracy of cultural research in film and television works should be given more attention. This is no longer a production detail error, it represents the significance of cultural heritage behind it.

Director Yang Jie was not displeased at all. She wrote a letter of thanks to Qian Zhongshu in shame, and immediately gathered the original team to make up for this "one mouthed clock" scene.

All the actors, props technicians, and lighting technicians have not complained, and after carefully understanding the meaning of a bell, they all attach great importance to it. The prop team has remade the "One Bell" prop based on ancient literature, and the actors have carefully studied ancient clothing and cultural materials. The photographer has repeatedly adjusted the camera position and lighting to ensure that it looks different from the already broadcasted materials.

Subsequently, the entire remake work was successfully completed, and the scene version taken this time will become the final selection for broadcasting.

However, Zhu Bajie's lines were still missed. He joked at the king of Chechi Kingdom and said, "In such a large Chechi Kingdom, you still treat this broken bell as a treasure." Obviously, he was still referring to the bronze bell.

After this incident, Director Yang Jie became more cautious in her creative work.
